World Athletics athlete profile reports 2:36:53 NR at Firenze on 1 December 1996. The IAAF Doha 2019 handbook national-record table (printed page 767) reports 2:36:52 at the same venue and date. Both primary references are preserved; no preferred mark, second achievement or numeric ranking is asserted pending reconciliation. The earlier federation year discrepancy remains a separate unresolved detail.
